In our Resident Evil Village review, we take a look at the survival horror game of 2021.
Resident Evil Village Review
The whereabouts of the village from which the game takes its name were never disclosed. However, a few clues suggest that the game takes place somewhere in the snowy mountains of Romania. A village is a dilapidated place with wooden and brick houses and occasional churches. There is a gothic castle in the village and various ruins pointing to an ancient past. The mysterious and dark atmosphere of the village is as exciting as it is fun to explore. The art direction is very good.
While searching for his child, Ethan encounters a tall and attractive-looking vampire, a strange mutant Fishman with a deformed body, a murderous porcelain doll, and various other terrifying beings. Each encountered character brings a different perspective to the game. Sometimes the game is an action-packed survival, sometimes it turns into a slow-flowing psychological horror genre. The game never lets you relax and think the threat is over.
Ethan has few allies in the village. However, they die horribly soon after. There is another mysterious character named Duke. Duke, who is a merchant in the village, always seems to be one step ahead of you. Turn a corner in an area you’ve just discovered, and you’ll see him there quietly blowing his cigar.
Each episode is so different that the game feels like an anthology of horror. It is very difficult to predict what will happen next in the game.
Verdict
When you complete the game, you unlock the market where you can buy extras with the currency in the game. Extras include the fan-favorite arcade mode, The Mercenaries. At the end of the Resident Evil Village review article, we can easily say that Village is the scariest Resident Evil game in the series.
