Dying Light 2 is very close to being released and it is one of the best open-world games coming in 2022. We also have brand new gameplay that reveals loads of new details. We’ll go over all the important information you need to know before playing Dying Light 2.
One big new addition to the game is gear. Gears give bonuses and perks for different play styles. For example, there is headwear that increases the damage of one-handed weapons. Similar to the weapon rarity in the first game, there are six rarities for gear in Dying Light 2. Additionally, there are over 500 unique items and 140 weapons that can also be modded. For example, flame mods trigger special fire effects on melee weapons.
The durability of weapons has changed significantly compared to the first game. You can repair a weapon just a few times. If we don’t mod them, we’ll likely be changing weapons more often. Because mods give weapons durability. Also, we can get gear, consumables, and coins by looting from enemies. Developers made a very big change to the weapon types. Military and police guns are not available in the new game. The only available ranged weapons are bows and crossbows.
New Protagonist
The new game takes place 20 years after the first game. We have a new character named Aiden who is part of a group called Pilgrims and he is looking for his sister Mia. The big change is society going back to a modern medieval era. Another big thing is the fast travel option with metro stations.
There are also faction-specific quests and rewards. And there are special training areas where you can practice with unique and interesting weapons. You can play missions in groups of four people by joining other people’s games.
Crossplay will not be available at launch, but the developers will support this game for 5 years. This means we can expect crossplay after the game is out.
In the original game, nighttime was brutal. In Dying Light 2, during the day, many zombies hide in buildings to avoid sunlight. They roam outside during the night. Therefore, it is safer to explore buildings during the night.
Skill System in Dying Light 2
Like the parkour skills, the skills in the new game focused on active abilities. For example, there is a Far Jump skill that allows you to jump further, or Landing Jump lets you land safely. Just like in the first game, we also have the Slide skill, which allows you to slide while running. There are combat skills like Vault Power Kick that send enemies flying. Perfect Parry and Perfect Dodge are some other combat skills in the game.
We have more character customization options compared to the original game. You can make your character stronger by buying new weapons and gear. Apart from weapons and gear, accessories and consumables can be purchased with Villedor Coins.
The original game was pretty good. The second game looks even better than the first one.
